Cascades Gardens is a beautiful 4 acre public garden set in the historic village of Bonsall, near Matlock Derbyshire. In 2014 Cascades Gardens will be open to the public from Saturday 3rd May to Sunday 28th September. B&B guests are welcome to enjoy the gardens at anytime during their stay.
The public gardens at Cascades surround the ruins of an old corn mill. The spectacular open gardens features a wide variety of plants, including a fantastic selection of hellebores and herbaceous perennials providing interest throughout the year.
Cascades Gardens is a fascinating garden to visit in Derbyshire. Set on many levels with a new garden room around every corner - formal perennial beds, water gardens, a winter garden and vegetable patch. There are also spectacular views from the cliff top paths and the chance to buy choice and unusual plants in the nursery.
The first day of opening in 2014 will be Saturday 3rd May. Cascades Gardens will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm every Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Bank holiday throughout the Summer until Sunday 28th September. Group visits are most welcome and refreshments for groups can be made avaliable by prior arrangement.
Cascacdes Gardens will be taking part in the annual Bonsall Magical Open Gardens event being held on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th June 2014. Tickets are available in advance from the Barley Mow pub, Hollies Farm shop, Kings Head pub in Bonsall or The Fountain Café, and on the day at Cascades Gardens and Herbert Lodge and the village pubs.
The village of Bonsall has many old buildings, and is a great place to walk in the hills. It has two attractive old pubs that offer a warm welcome and serve good food.
Cascades Gardens also has a well stocked nursery enabling you take home some of the beautiful plants and flowers that you can see during your visit to these beautiful gardens.
