The Pond

The Bonsall Brook runs into the pond, which is planted with many different water and bog plants. It divides into two, one arm becoming the mill race which goes over the cascades and the other a stream flowing on the flat level. A causeway is built into the centre of the pond to make clearing the silt easier. The statue is Andromeda chained to the rock. All the paths in the garden are gravelled by grit deposited by the stream. A very useful natural resource!
